This picture was taken in Chicago. When I saw this old building, I was immediately attracted to it. I wanted to know how long that building had been there. I wanted to know who built it, who was a part of that building. Are the vines growing on the sides of the building part of the design, or are they a product of apathy for the building. Was it a church? I think so. How long until it is torn to the ground so something new can take its place? I wondered if this building felt threatened by the newer buildings looming overhead. I often wonder what stories this building holds. This is when I realized that I have begun to actively seek out new perspectives. I longed to know the perspectives of the people who were a part of this building. I wanted to see what they have seen. I felt that they could give me a greater understanding of that building. I want to know about this building before it is gone. Before it is erased from human history.
